How to Stencil on Walls
Stenciling is as simple as it sounds: blotting paint from a sponge or brush onto a cutout of any shape. The result is a pattern with a charmingly handmade look.
1. Tape the stencil on with blue painter's tape to keep it in place (Photo 1).
2. Lightly dip your sponge into the cantaloupe glaze and then tap directly on top of the stencil (Photo 2 and 3).
3. For this particular pattern, I spaced the stencils about 2" (5cm) apart. For smaller stencils, a good rule of thumb is to space stencils from fingertip to elbow or about 12" apart.
4. Remove the stencil (Photo 4) and repeat until you have finished the entire room.
